Admission to Quainton Hall School & Nursery
We positively encourage prospective parents to come and visit our School before registering their child. We have a Saturday Open Morning in May or parents can contact the Admissions’ Secretary to arrange an appointment with the Headmaster and tour of the school during the working week.
We accept children into our Nursery aged between 2½ - 4 years.
The Nursery year begins in September and places are offered to children who will be aged 2½ + and have been on our waiting list.
Although the Nursery does not have Open Days we advise parents to call the School and make an appointment to visit the Nursery.
Main School Assessment Procedure
N.B. The closing date for September 2018 Reception Class registration has now passed; please contact our Registrar Mrs Aleksin-Shah for possible consideration as a late application for a place.
Reception: Our assessments are held in January in an age-appropriate and stimulating environment. Activities are designed to enable your child to relax and be themselves. At 4+ we are looking for potential, rather than what has already been learnt. The assessment covers language and social skills, number, physical and creative skills.
Registration Forms and a passport sized photo are needed for entry to our Reception Class in September 2018. They must be received by the Admissions Secretary by Friday 8 December, 2017.
Prep 3 and Prep 6: By Assessment and Interview, we also request a copy of your child’s most recent School Report from their current school.
Other Years: Entry to the school in other years is also by Assessment/Interview. Parents can complete a Registration Form and join our waiting list.
In all circumstances letters offering a place at the school will be sent out to parents within one week of their child having an assessment. Replies are normally required within 10 working days.
