The Wonders of the Water Cycle
Affinity Water recently came to visit QHS. The children were treated to a presentation that provided them with information about the water cycle, a rainfall map of the UK, and some amazing figures about how much water each family uses on a regular basis.
There were then different classroom activities after the presentation. They had to use a variety of pipes and junctions to supply an area with water, taking into account the water pressure available and the limited supply of hardware.
Throughout the morning, we were encouraged to shower rather than take a bath, to turn off the tap while brushing our teeth, and to try to save water whenever possible. If your children tell you that they don’t need to take a shower, so that they can save water – don’t believe them!
