Admission to Quainton Hall School & Nursery

We positively encourage prospective parents to come and visit the School before registering their child. We have a Saturday Open Morning in May or parents can contact the Admissions’ Secretary to arrange an appointment with the Headmaster and tour of the school during the working week.

We accept children into our Nursery from the age of 2½ - 4 years. Please request a Nursery Prospectus and an Application Form from our Nursery Admissions Secretary, Mrs Wood. The Application Form needs to be completed fully and signed by both parents and returned to us.

The Nursery year begins in September and we normally have approximately 25 places available, these places are offered to children who will be aged 2½ + and have been on our waiting list.

Although the Nursery does not have Open Days we advise parents to call the School and make an appointment to visit the Nursery.

Main School Assessment Procedure

The School Prospectus and Registration Form are available from our Admissions Secretary, Mrs Aleksin-Shah. We ask that the Registration Form is completed fully and signed by both parents.
N.B. The close date for September 2017 Reception Class registration has passed; please contact Mrs Aleksin-Shah for possible consideration as a late application.

Reception: By Assessment, children are placed into groups of five according to their age. These assessments are held at the end of January in the year that the children are due to start. We also request a written report from your child’s Nursery School. The assessments are held in our Pre-Prep Department and involve several of our Pre-Prep staff.

Registration Forms and a passport sized photo are needed for entry to our Reception Class in September 2018. They must be received by the Admissions Secretary by Friday 8th December 2017.

Prep 3 and Prep 6: By Assessment and Interview, we also request a copy of your child’s most recent School Report from their current school.

Other Years: Entry to the school in other years is also by Assessment/Interview. Parents can complete a Registration Form and join our waiting list.

In all circumstances letters offering a place at the school will be sent out to parents within one week of their child having an assessment. Replies are normally required within 10 working days.
